I'm the girl that went from circus performer to MBA graduate. I love the beach, iced coffee, Mexican food, a tequila cocktail, horses, and slow mornings. My goal? To help others find their version of success and stop living for someone else's.
Let’s be honest—summer has a way of pulling us in a million directions. Between vacations, kids being home, longer days, and just wanting to live a little, marketing can easily fall to the bottom of the list. I’ll raise my hand right now: I’ve definitely had seasons where my marketing collected dust while life took over.
But here’s the thing—ghosting your marketing for a bit doesn’t mean you’ve ruined your chance to show up or grow. It just means you get to come back in a way that feels doable and authentic. If that’s you right now, here are three simple ways to make your comeback without needing to create a massive 30-day plan or spend hours catching up.
I used to think I had to be everywhere all at once—Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn…you name it. That belief is exactly what led to burnout and, honestly, ghosting. The truth? Showing up consistently on ONE platform is better than being scattered across five.
For me, that one platform was Instagram. I remember the summer I barely posted for two months, and when I came back, I committed to just showing up there once a week. That one little step built momentum and reconnected me with my audience quickly.
So, don’t overthink it. Choose your platform, post something this week, and let it be enough.
You don’t always have to create from scratch—especially when you’re coming back from a break. I’ve had posts from two years ago that still get saves, shares, and comments when I re-share or repurpose them.
One of my favorite tricks is scrolling through old captions or podcast notes and reworking them into something fresh. Last summer, I reshared a blog post from the year before, just updated the examples, and it ended up being one of my top-performing posts of the season.
Your old content is still valuable—and often new to someone in your audience.
If you’re worried about “what do I even say after being gone for weeks?”—keep it simple. A life update post is the easiest way to reconnect without pressure.
I’ve done this after vacations, maternity leave, even when I just hit a creative slump. I shared a picture of my kids at the pool with a caption like, “It’s been a full summer over here, but I’m excited to get back into creating content for you all. Tell me what you want to learn about next!” That single post reminded my audience that I’m a real person and gave them a chance to re-engage.
Your people don’t expect perfection—they want connection. Sometimes a quick life update is the perfect bridge back into marketing.
If you ghosted your marketing this summer, you’re not behind—you’re just human. Marketing is a long game, and the people who stick with it aren’t the ones who never miss a beat, they’re the ones who keep coming back.
Start small, choose one of these three tips, and take action this week. You’ll be surprised how quickly the momentum returns.
